From Madeline, who volunteered in Delhi, India for seven weeks with an HIV/AIDS organization in February/March 2010:
(Feb 6, 2010):
“So far, I have worked on some small projects – a grant proposal and an information packet about HIV to hand out at outreach events. I also spend a lot of time playing with the kids from the Care Home, which is really nice. I don’t know if I’ll ever work in an office that gets infiltrated by children every day. It’s been a really great experience, so far.”
(May 2, 2010):
“…I arrived home safely…I had a really great experience abroad (can’t believe it’s over already!), so thank you for helping me accomplish that!”

Teresa and Andrew generously donated funds through their company back home for a Christmas party for children at an orphanage in Cape Coast, Ghana last week.
The couple from Minnesota volunteered with the children for three weeks back in the spring of 2009. After returning home, they put together a lovely book of their experiences, copies of which they shipped to the kids and their caregivers in time for Christmas.
Anna from Brussels volunteered at an orphanage in Tuni, India for three weeks in November 2008.
“It was nice that the volunteer work was what you made it in to. I did a lot of teaching since I really think that is fun and I hope that I gave the working teachers some new ideas concerning learning and develop children. I also played lots with the children and I found them and the work I did wonderful…For my accommodations, I had prepared for more poor conditions so I was happily surprised. The host family was great.”
Mombasa is a lively port city steeped in history, where life has continued unhurried and unchanged for more than 900 years.
The true heart of the city is the exotic old town made up of narrow winding streets, open markets, and Arab architecture. Mombasa has many long, white beaches such as Diani Beach with watersports and even wild primates.
The volunteer programs include teaching at elementary schools, volunteering at orphanages, coaching sports, assisting at AIDS organizations, and volunteering at medical clinics.
